Privacy Policy

We, astrogpt.me, are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and safeguarding the personal data you provide when using our service. This Privacy Policy outlines what data we collect, how we use, store, and protect it.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information necessary to provide our services. AstroGPT has no accounts: you don’t register, and we never ask for your name, email address or date of birth.

1.1. Device Identifier

  • To authenticate the app’s requests and count your questions, the app uses a device identifier: the identifier Android provides to the app on your device or, if it is unavailable, a randomly generated one. It is not your advertising ID. The app stores it on your device and sends it with each request. The identifier Android provides stays the same if you clear the app’s storage or reinstall the app; it changes after a factory reset.

1.2. Technical Information

  • IP address and technical information your device sends with each request, such as request headers.

1.3. Input Data

  • The question you ask and your follow-up messages in the same chat.
  • The date, time and location of your device when you start a chat, used to calculate the astrological chart, and the astrological tradition selected in the app.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to deliver and improve our services:

  • To calculate the chart and answer your question based on horary astrology techniques and AI.
  • To apply the question limits of the free plan and AstroGPT Pro.
  • To reply when you contact our support.
  • To analyze and improve the functionality of the app and to prevent abuse.

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the service providers described below, which process it on our behalf to operate the Service, or when required by law.

2.1. AI Processing

Answers are generated by an artificial-intelligence language model provided by OpenAI. To produce an answer, we send OpenAI the text of your question and of the current conversation, together with the astrological chart calculated for it (planetary positions, houses, the date and your time zone). We do not send OpenAI your device identifier, your IP address or your location coordinates. OpenAI processes this data on our behalf under its API terms: it does not use it to train its models and may retain it for a limited period to detect abuse. OpenAI may process this data outside your country, including in the United States.

2.2. App Analytics

The Android app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. It collects usage events (such as app opens, screens viewed and when the subscription screen is shown), device and app information, an app-instance identifier, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Firebase Analytics does not receive your questions or answers.

2.3. Advertising

Free users can watch rewarded video ads, served by Google AdMob, to earn extra questions. Google may use your device’s advertising ID and information about your device and app use to serve and measure ads and, where you have consented or the law allows, to personalize them. You can review or change your advertising consent at any time in the app under Menu → Privacy & Data, and reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

2.4. Subscriptions

AstroGPT Pro is purchased through Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions: it receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase and subscription status from Google Play, but not your card details, name or questions.

3. Data Retention

  • Questions and answers are not stored. The conversation is kept only in the app’s memory while the chat is open; the app sends it with each message so the answer can take earlier messages into account, and our server uses it to produce the answer without saving it. It is not saved on your device either: once the app is closed, the conversation is gone. OpenAI’s retention is described in section 2.1.
  • Question counters. To apply question limits, our server keeps counters of the questions used by each device identifier. They contain no questions, answers or location. The daily counters for AstroGPT Pro and for questions earned by watching ads are deleted automatically after 24 hours; the counter of free questions is kept for as long as the device identifier is in use.
  • Server logs. To operate and secure the service, our server writes technical logs containing the device identifier, IP address and request headers, the time and type of each request, your location rounded to one decimal place (about 10 km), the astrological tradition, the overall verdict of each answer (such as “yes” or “no”), and the amount of AI processing used. Logs do not contain your questions or answers. They are limited in size, and older entries are overwritten automatically as new ones are written.
  • Data on your device. The device identifier, your language and tradition settings and your subscription status are stored in the app on your device until you clear the app’s storage or uninstall it.
  • Data processed by Firebase Analytics, Google AdMob, RevenueCat and Google Play is retained according to their own policies.

4. Data Protection

We implement technical, administrative, and organizational measures to safeguard your data from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. For example:

  • Data encryption during transmission (SSL/TLS).
  • Restricted access to data for authorized personnel only.

5. Payment Processing

AstroGPT Pro is purchased through Google Play, which processes the payment. We never receive or store your card details, name or billing address; we only receive your subscription status through RevenueCat (see section 2.4).

6. Cookies

Our website does not use cookies or similar technologies to track you, and it shows no advertising.

To understand how the website is used, we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we host ourselves. It works without cookies, does not store your IP address and does not identify individual visitors: it records aggregate data such as pages viewed, links clicked, the referring site, browser, device type and country.

The website is delivered through Cloudflare, which also measures how fast pages load and counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or fingerprinting to identify visitors; it records aggregate data such as pages viewed, load times, the referring site, browser and country.

The Android app does not use cookies. The analytics and advertising services it uses are described in section 2.

7. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access, updates, or deletion of your data.
  • Opt out of data processing for marketing purposes.
  • File a complaint with regulatory authorities if you believe your rights have been violated.

Because there are no accounts, the data we hold is linked to a device identifier, not to your name. You can delete the data stored on your device yourself by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app, reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings, and change your advertising consent in the app under Menu → Privacy & Data. 8. Children

Our service is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
