The complete void-of-course Moon calendar for 2027, ready for planning. A void begins at the last exact aspect the Moon makes to the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn before leaving her sign and lasts until her ingress. The table, grouped by month, converts every time to your own zone.
The Moon is void of course 162 times in 2027. The longest void lasts 2 d 1 h 57 min (it starts on 18 Aug, 04:57 UTC); the shortest, 5 min.
The 2027 table is built the same way as the 2026 one, period by period. Every row begins with an exact aspect, the last one the Moon makes to a classical planet before leaving her sign, and that aspect is named, so you can see whether a void opened on a trine to Jupiter or a square to Saturn. All rows but one end at the Moon’s ingress. The exception is 26 June 2027, with the Moon in Pisces: that void ends at 07:23 UTC, when Mercury enters a new sign, and a planet entering a new sign lets the Moon complete an aspect she otherwise could not. That row is marked.
Planning ahead is the main reason to look at a whole year at once. Electional astrology, the craft of picking a moment to begin, traditionally keeps a void Moon away from anything meant to grow, while finishing, resting and routine suit it well. Knowing where the long voids of 2027 fall lets you keep an important date clear of them.
Only aspects to the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn count here, and only exact Ptolemaic ones. That keeps this calendar in step with the way AstroGPT reads the Moon in a Western-mode horary chart, and it explains why lists built with the outer planets give different, usually shorter, voids.
For the present moment see the live page, Is the Moon void of course now?, which also covers what the void Moon means in a horary question. The 2026 calendar has the year before this one. All times here are offered for reflection and entertainment.
Ask about the Moon’s course
AstroGPT casts a chart for the moment you ask and, in Western mode, reads the Moon’s course in it. For reflection and entertainment only.
In UTC it begins on 1 January 2027 at 03:27, when the Moon in Libra makes her last aspect, a sextile to Jupiter, and it lasts until 10:15, when she enters Scorpio. It is the first row of the January table, with the times converted to your zone; where clocks run four or more hours behind UTC, as in New York, that start still falls on 31 December.
Can I plan 2027 dates around the void Moon?
That is what a full-year calendar is for. Electional tradition prefers a Moon in course for beginnings, so people keep weddings, launches and signatures clear of the longer voids; short ones, sometimes only minutes long, rarely need planning around.
Will the 2027 times change?
Not in any way that matters. The Moon and the planets move predictably, so the times can be worked out well in advance. What can differ is another calendar’s method: lists that include the outer planets give shorter voids.
